These designs are part of a collaboration with Maricela Tapia Martínez, an artisan specializing in laca perfilanda from Pátzcuaro, Michoacán and Lucina Montañez Mota from Dallas, Texas. The laca perfilada pieces were co-designed with Lucina from Motcy. Maricela worked meticulously to bring these designs to life, and Motcy, using wire wrapping techniques, completed the designs in Dallas, TX.

About the Design
These designs were made by artist Maricela Tapia Martínez Pátzcuaro, Michoacán. Laca Perfilada is an artisanal art form native to Michoacán; the gold shellac paint is used to create designs by hand on various mediums. Traditionally, the laca perfilada paintings are colorful and designed with local fauna and flora in mind.
