Talavera ceramic is typical of the state of Puebla, Mexico. It is known for its white background with designs in blue, yellow, black, green, orange, and mauve. Original Talavera pottery from Puebla is only made in the state, specifically in the towns of Atlixco or Cholula, due to the high quality of the clays found in these regions and the four-centuries-old traditional manufacturing. Talavera is a blend of Chinese, Italian, Spanish, and native ceramic manufacturing techniques. This tradition was born in this beautiful state and is known as Talavera Poblana, making it different from other Spanish Talavera.
These designs are part of a product of two artisans from Talavera Salazar in Puebla, MX. The artisans worked meticulously to bring these designs to life, in a process that takes 3-4 days to create.
