But what truly sets this dress apart is its breathtaking embroidery, inspired by the rich iconography of San Felipe Jalapa de Díaz.

Using the traditional Jalapa de Díaz technique on rayon textile, the embroidery achieves a stunning depth and texture, creating a mesmerizing tapestry of color and detail. Jalapa embroidery is first made by drawing patterns on cloth and then using a small hoop to hand embroider the garment and bring colorful designs inspired by flora and fauna. The embroidery is native to San Felipe Jalapa de Díaz, in the Mexican state of Oaxaca.
